A state-of-the-art facility with the latest projection and sound, Nehru Planetarium Mumbai is run by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University in Aurangabad in association with Maharashtra Institute of Technology at Pune.

History

The Planetarium has its origins in the small Planetarium that was installed by the University Education Department in 1962. It has since undergone many changes and renovations.

The first major renovation was done in 1998-99 with the installation of a 70 cm Zeiss II star projector and a new sound system.

How to reach Nehru Planetarium Mumbai?

Nehru Planetarium is located in the suburbs of south Mumbai on the outer ring road. It is approximately 3 km from Bandra Terminus Railway Station and 3.5 km from National College (Kala Ghoda). The nearest metro is Versova.
