- Marve Beach is located in Malad West.
- Comparatively, it’s a smaller beach.
- The beach is adjacent to the INS Hamla camp.
- Early morning you can witness INS Hamla jawans training on the beach.
- Ferry boats are available every 5 min to cross the creek to the other side of Manori. From here, you can get a bus to Manori Beach, Goria Beach, Uttan, Essel world, etc.
- Every 30 min there are ferry boats available to go from Marve beach to Essel world and Pagoda.
How to get here :
The beach is close to Malad West railway station, which is on the Western Railway line.
From here you can take BEST bus no.272, and you need to get off at the last stop.
The bus would charge you approximately Rs.25 (5km).
Alternatively, Auto rickshaws are available, which will cost you approximately Rs.150.
Movement on the beach is restricted as it has a narrow width, and since it is very close to the Indian Naval base, which includes INS Hamla.
It is a good spot for evening and morning walks and to enjoy the fresh air. Swimming is not allowed due to the strong currents and sinking sand.
Fishing at Marve Beach
This is a good spot for fishing. You will find local boys with strings in hand. They are using bait like shells, shrimp, and earthworms to lure fish into their hooks.
It’s a good pass time and hobby. All you need is a string, hook, bait (wheat flour, earthworm, shells, prawn), and patience.
You can go home with some fresh fish and feeling happy. You can chill with street foods like bhel puri, Pani puri, corn, batata Wada, Kala khatta, and the list goes on.
It is a small beach but has unlimited fun and is very accessible.
From there you will also find boats that will take you to Essel World and also to the Global Vipassana Pagoda.
Marve Beach Timings and Entry Fee:
There is no specific timing for Marve Beach. It is open throughout the day and can be visited at any time. There is no entry fee. You will see many families visiting the beach on Sundays. It is a small beach but has all the excitement like Boating, Street food, Children’s toys, Restaurants, vehicle parking, etc.
The best time to visit the beach is in the morning when you can witness the Fishermen bringing in their boats to the shore and sitting on the beach sorting the fish. You can also buy fresh fish at an economical rate, but you would need to be good at bargaining.
