How to apply for Ration Card Online

Gone are the days when you would have to stand in line and spend many days waiting for your application for a Ration card.

The only way to get a ration card was by employing an agent who would charge big money for getting your work done. New initative of the government of India. Here is how to apply for a Ration card online.

Applicants must scan and upload the documents to the OTP-based Online system.  An Officer will visit your home to verify the original papers.

You will also have to visit the Ration office after taking an online appointment as you do for your passport application. This will reduce the time taken to apply for a new passport. This is under the Right to Services Act passed by the government.

People will now get their new ration cards within 30 days of their application.

6. Selecting Head of Family for Application- Oldest female Family member (Not below 18 years), the oldest male member if there is no eligible Female member.
1. Please enter all the mandatory(* marked) fields; null or empty will not be accepted.
2. Incomplete application form will not be accepted.
3. Applicant should upload scan photograph of the head of the family in GIF, JPG format and should not exceed 100 KB in size.
4. Applicant should upload scan Enclosure in GIF, JPG, pdf format and not exceed 200 KB in size.
5. Scanned documents required from the applicant for upload:
(A)ID Proof(anyone): Aadhaar /NPR card, Driving License, Government / Semi-Government organization’s Identity card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID card of Election Commission.
(B)Proof of Residential address (Anyone): Rent receipt, Recent month Electricity bill, Photocopy of Present electoral list, Aadhar card, House Tax Receipt, Recent water supply bill, Any other Proof or Certificate of Residence, Rent Agreement, Sales deed (registered), Recent Telephone bill(Govt Company), Bank Passbook, NOC from a landlord/House, Owner with Photo ID
(C)Other Mandatory documents (1)(anyone): Self-Signed Certificate(Proforma 2)
(D)Other Mandatory documents(2)(anyone): Medical certificate, Name exclusion Certificate, Ration Card Surrender Certificate

The primary criteria for the Maharastra Ration card are that you must be a resident of Maharashtra and not hold any other ration card.
